Our Story
How We Met
Kelsey and Jason met in August of 2017 in downtown Walnut Creek at one of Jason’s favorite dive bars: Tiki Tom’s. Kelsey and her friend Zoey had stopped for a drink at Tikis to figure out their plans for the rest of the night when Jason’s roommate at the time came up and asked if they could sit with them. The group continued on to another bar where Kelsey hatched a plan with Zoey to make sure she was teamed up with Jason for a game of pool. And as great friends do, Zoey took one for the team and played with the roommate so that Jason and Kelsey could be together. At the end of the night, Kelsey gave Jason her number and they went on their first official date that very next weekend.
…And the Rest is History
After 3 years of dating and many adventures together including Kelsey graduating from Saint Mary’s College, Jason finishing his apprenticeship with the Vallejo Fire Department, moving in together, getting a puppy, and lots of traveling—they decided to keep adventuring together forever.
She Said Yes!
September 2020Proposal
On a family vacation in September of 2020 to San Diego (one of their favorite vacation spots), they had planned a private catamaran ride for their anniversary which was earlier that month.
Little did Kelsey know, Jason had much bigger plans. As arranged with the boat captain, Jason got down on one knee (very impressive on the netted surface of the boat) just as they passed in front of the city skyline at sunset.
Without a doubt in the world, Kelsey said yes to forever with her best friend.
